Pros and Cons of Netflix Watch Instantly

I have been an "instant watcher" for about three years now and I've watched hundreds of movies on Netflix - many good (3 stars +) with a littering of weak films. One account feature that I really appreciate on Netflix is that you can review your entire and I mean ENTIRE viewing history on the website. Case in point, I have literally watched thousands of hours of movies, comedy stand ups, tv shows and mini-series. Watch instantly has its share of detractors. If you're purely into big box office hits with lots of action and effects than you'll be waiting and scrolling through the titles more than actually enjoying movies. It's definitely easy to develop a habit of sifting through the titles and clicking from one film to another. Netflix encourages this by constantly updating its personalized "suggestions" as you rate and watch more and more movies. Here's a brief list of the pro's and con's of watching instantly on Netflix:

Cons:

• Only SIX!!?? of "Netflix Top 100 "films are available to stream instantly on your computer!
• Netflix "New Arrivals" have often long been on the scene with "Newly Arrived" films on watch instantly that are regularly a decade + old!
• No New Release Genre (because watch instantly does not carry nearly as many newly released films as their DVD selections.
• Unfortunately where Netflix shines in indies, documentaries, classics and foreign film - they lack in the more broad based genres that everybody wants more of: action, drama and sci-fi. 
• New user interface is not a hit with all users - in fact some have left Netflix altogether.
• Netflix Watch Instantly has a huge database of movies to watch online. Sadly, there are a lot and I mean  A LOT of crappy films that barely deserve a star! It's up to you, the intelligent user to find the films worth watching. (Sort by rating!)
• Starz Play is marketed as a huge plus feature on watch instantly but over the past year it has failed to deliver a steady stream of good to great movie action.
• No Weinstein Company movies (which I love!!!)

Pros:

• Great independent films selection. Enjoy a broad range of indie favorites in a variety of genres and periods.
• Solid and friendly user interface with detailed film categories - more detailed than any other instant watching or movie download site!!
• A generous helping of HD movies, t.v. shows, documentaries and comedy stand up.
• Great suggestions - once you start rating movies and adding titles to your netflix instant watching queue, they will begin suggesting relevant viewing options of equal or greater caliber.
• Where Starz Play lacks a wide selection of award winning films they impress with amazing Starz original shows such as Pillars of the Earth and Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
